FTMO Instant Account Review: Great Rules, Premium Price

FTMO's new Instant account has some of the best instant funding rules on the market. It also has one of the highest prices.

FTMO has launched the FTMO Instant Account, its first instant funding product. There is no evaluation: you pay once, and the account is active the moment you buy.

The rules are good. A 10% maximum loss, a 30% consistency rule and a trailing drawdown based on closed balance rather than live equity, are some of the best instant funding account rules available right now.

But these benefits come at a huge price premium. The $50,000 account costs €1,499, or about $1,676, nearly 4.5 times the $376 price of Tradeify FX’s equivalent Direct account with code TPJ, which I think is the more reasonable alternative for traders who are ok with a 20% consistency rule.

In this article I’ll explain how FTMO Instant works, what happens to the drawdown when you withdraw, and how it compares with Tradeify FX Direct.

How The FTMO Instant Account Works

    FTMO Instant pricing

The Instant Account comes in 5 sizes, each with a one-time, non-refundable fee. There are no profit targets and no time limit.

    Account SizePriceMaximum LossMaximum Daily Loss
    $5,000€169 (about $189)$500 (10%)$150 (3%)
    $10,000€339 (about $379)$1,000 (10%)$300 (3%)
    $25,000€749 (about $837)$2,500 (10%)$750 (3%)
    $50,000€1,499 (about $1,676)$5,000 (10%)$1,500 (3%)
    $100,000€2,999 (about $3,352)$10,000 (10%)$3,000 (3%)

FTMO lists the Instant prices in euros, even with USD selected on its site. Dollar figures are converted at €1 = $1.118, the rate on 12 October 2026, so what you actually pay will depend on your card’s exchange rate.

Every size shares the same rules:

    • Maximum loss: 10%, trailing your highest closed balance in real time.
    • Maximum daily loss: 3% of the starting balance, measured from the balance at midnight CE(S)T.
    • Consistency: Your best day must be no more than 30% of total profit to request a Reward.
    • Reward: 90% of profit.
    • Leverage: Up to 1:100.
    • Platforms: MT4, MT5 and cTrader.

Full rules are on FTMO’s Trading Objectives page.

Some Of The Best Instant Funding Rules

Instant accounts usually make up for skipping the evaluation with tighter rules. FTMO’s are unusually generous in 3 ways.

    10% maximum loss

A 10% maximum loss is as much room as most firms give on a 2-Step evaluation, let alone an instant account. On the $50,000, you start with $5,000 of drawdown and a $45,000 floor. Tradeify FX’s Direct account gives you 6%, or $3,000.

    A 30% consistency rule

To request a Reward, your best day can be no more than 30% of your total profit. A 15% limit is common on instant accounts, and 30% is twice as forgiving.

That difference matters in practice. With a 30% rule, a single $600 day needs $2,000 of total profit before you can withdraw. With a 15% rule, the same day needs $4,000. Exceeding the limit isn’t a breach at either firm, but it delays your payout until the consistency rule is satisfied.

The count also resets after every Reward. FTMO measures consistency only on profit made since your last withdrawal, so one big day won’t hold up payouts for the life of the account.

    Balance-based trailing

Many instant accounts trail the maximum loss on live equity, so the floor rises with open profit you haven’t banked. A winning trade that runs and then retraces can drag the floor up and leave you with less room than when you entered.

FTMO trails your highest closed balance instead. The floor only moves when a trade closes at a new high, so open profit never raises it. On the $50,000, a trade that runs to +$1,500 and closes at +$600 lifts the floor by $600, not $1,500.

The floor still updates in real time rather than at the end of the day, and the breach check uses live equity, so an open losing trade can still end the account.

    How The Drawdown Handles Withdrawals

FTMO’s maximum loss trails your highest closed balance and never locks. That cuts both ways.

Good: it doesn’t lock when you withdraw

At many instant firms, including Tradeify FX, requesting a payout locks the floor at your starting balance. Withdraw all your profit and you have no room left.

FTMO doesn’t do that. The floor stays where your peak balance put it, which suits traders who withdraw small amounts. On the $50,000, a peak of $52,000 puts the floor at $47,000. Withdraw all $2,000 of profit and you are back at $50,000 with $3,000 of room. At Tradeify FX, the same withdrawal would leave you with none.

Bad: it never locks at all

The floor also never stops trailing, even once it passes your starting balance. Most trailing drawdowns, including Tradeify’s, lock at the starting balance. FTMO’s keeps rising 10% behind your best closed balance, and its own rules warn that once your balance passes 110% of the starting capital, a withdrawal can breach the account.

That limits traders going for profits above 10%. The higher your peak, the more profit has to stay in the account as a buffer.

$50,000 Account, Peak BalanceFloorProfit You Can Withdraw
    $52,000$47,000All $2,000, leaving $3,000 of room
$55,000$50,000Not quite all $5,000, leaving almost no room
    $60,000$55,000Under $5,000 of the $10,000

So the 10% works best as a buffer for frequent, smaller withdrawals. For a trader trying to build a large balance before taking profit, it behaves more like a 10% trailing drawdown that never stops.

    The Huge Premium

Those rules come at a price. On every size, the maximum loss is only about 3 times the fee.

    AccountPriceMaximum LossDrawdown vs Fee
    FTMO Instant $10,000$379$1,0002.6x
    FTMO Instant $50,000$1,676$5,0003.0x
    FTMO Instant $100,000$3,352$10,0003.0x
Tradeify FX Direct $50,000 (code TPJ)$376$3,0008.0x

FTMO prices are converted to dollars, so both sides of the ratio are in the same currency.

At about $1,676 for the $50,000, you are paying evaluation-level prices several times over. FTMO’s own 1-Step and 2-Step Challenges lead to an FTMO Account for a fraction of the fee, if you are willing to pass a target first.

Tradeify FX Direct: The Cheaper Alternative

Tradeify FX’s instant account, Direct, is the more reasonably priced option, provided you are comfortable with a stricter consistency rule.

    $50,000 AccountFTMO InstantTradeify FX Direct
Price€1,499 (about $1,676)$376 with code TPJ ($579 list)

    Daily Loss Limit3%3%
    Consistency30%20%
    Profit Split90%80% (90% with add-on)
    PayoutsOn requestOn demand, $100 minimum

    What you give up

The main trade-off is consistency. Tradeify’s best day can be no more than 20% of total profit, so in practice you need at least 5 profitable days before your first payout. With FTMO’s 30%, the same profit can come from 4 days or fewer.

You also get less room. Tradeify’s maximum loss is 6% rather than 10%, and the split is 80% unless you pay for the 90% add-on.

    What you gain

Code TPJ takes 35% off, bringing the $50,000 down from $579 to $376. That gives you $3,000 of drawdown at 8 times the fee, against about 3 times at FTMO.

Tradeify’s floor also stops trailing at your starting balance, and it locks there permanently from your first payout request. FTMO’s never stops. But that only helps after your balance has grown past 6%: before then, FTMO’s extra 4% of room is worth more. On a $50,000 account that has peaked at $53,000, withdrawing everything leaves you $2,000 of room at FTMO and none at Tradeify, which has already locked at $50,000.

So FTMO gives you more room until your peak profit passes $5,000. Beyond that, FTMO’s floor rises above your starting balance while Tradeify’s stays locked at it, and Tradeify’s structure is better. Code TPJ is listed with our other latest prop firm discount codes.

Is The FTMO Instant Account Worth It?

I think FTMO Instant has some of the best rules of any instant account. A 10% maximum loss, a 30% consistency rule that resets after every Reward, and a drawdown that ignores open profit are all genuinely trader-friendly.

But at about 3 times the fee in drawdown, it is priced like a premium product, because it is one. The never-locking floor also cuts both ways: it leaves you room after small withdrawals, but it keeps trailing past your starting balance and limits how much you can take out once you’re more than 10% up.

If the FTMO name and the most forgiving consistency rule matter most to you, I think it is a reasonable buy. If price matters more, Tradeify FX Direct gives you more drawdown per dollar and a floor that locks, as long as you can spread your profit across at least 5 days.

    Conclusion

FTMO has built one of the best instant funding rulesets on the market, then priced it well above most of the competition. You are paying for the extra room and the 30% consistency rule, not for better value.

Whichever you choose, plan your withdrawals around the drawdown. At FTMO, the safest approach is to leave enough profit in the account that your room never falls too far below your starting 10%.
