FundedNext Futures: The Prop Journalist's Verdict

    88%
    88%

FundedNext Futures is an established prop firm with 24-hour guaranteed payouts. The firm offers an excellent Flex plan with some of the cheapest prices in the industry, but the Legacy and Rapid plans have room for improvement. Importantly, the live program is very trader-friendly, only transitioning at the end of a payout cycle, not in-between. With a modern dashboard and clearly defined rules, FundedNext is a great choice for Futures traders.

    Pros

Now, let’s break down FundedNext Futures’ challenges.

    FundedNext Futures Challenges

    fundednext futures challenges

FundedNext Futures offers 4 different account plans. All of their accounts use End Of Day trailing drawdown, which is a big trader-friendly benefit compared to other firms with intraday trailing.

    • Flex – FundedNext Futures’ cheapest offering, with $50k accounts costing just $70. This plan has lower profit targets and no daily drawdown, but it has lower maximum drawdown than the competition, and requires a 40% consistency rule during the evaluation. The funded account pays a huge 95% profit split, with payouts up to every 5 days, with no buffer required.
    • Legacy – The most expensive FundedNext Futures plan, with few redeeming qualities. While it has the highest payout caps at FundedNext, it is let down by an 80% profit split. The evaluation has fairly standard parameters, but the 40% consistency rule feels overly restrictive given the plan’s high price.
    • Rapid Pro – An evaluation that can be passed in as little as one day, with no daily drawdown limits to slow you down. Also, there’s no buffer required on the funded account, but it does require 40% consistency for payouts. It is quite expensive, but can be made cheaper with the daily drawdown discount add-on.
    • Rapid Daily – FundedNext’s fastest route to payouts, with no consistency rule during the evaluation and daily payouts. End of Day trailing drawdown in both phases stands out against other firms’ daily payout options, but the plan is held back by restrictive payout caps. Also, the Rapid Daily has daily loss limits, and requires a buffer on the funded account.

The FundedNext Flex Plan starts from just $70 for a $50k account. This is much cheaper than the competition, which usually costs $100 or more. It also has a lower profit target of $2.5k.

However, it also has lower end of day trailing maximum drawdown of $1.5k, no daily loss limit and requires a 40% consistency rule. This means that overall, the FundedNext Flex is slightly harder to pass than the competition, but this makes sense for the lower price.

Also, the funded account has a 95% profit split, one of the highest in the industry. You can withdraw up to 50% of the profits after 5 benchmark trading days of minimum profit and at least $500 net profit in the cycle, with no consistency rule on funded. The maximum withdrawal is the same as the maximum drawdown, so $1.5k, $2.5k and $4k.

So if you want a cheaper price, and don’t mind a slightly harder evaluation, the FundedNext Futures Flex is a good choice.

The FundedNext Futures Legacy plan costs significantly more than the Flex, and while the maximum drawdown is higher, the profit targets are higher too. It has the same 40% consistency rule and no daily loss limit.

The Legacy plan has the same payout requirements as Flex. It has higher maximum withdrawals, but the profit split is only 80%. Overall, given the price, the Legacy plan is uncompetitive. There are firms that are cheaper, have better consistency rules, lower minimum daily profit and a higher profit split all in one. Not to mention FundedNext’s own Flex plan is much better value for money.

The FundedNext Rapid plan has no consistency rule in the evaluation, so it can be passed in a single day. It is available in Pro and Daily variations. Pro has no daily loss limits and no funded buffer required, but has a 40% consistency rule on funded. You have the option to add a daily loss limit to Pro to reduce the price.

Even with discounts, Rapid plans are quite expensive. The funded account pays a 90% profit split, which you can request every day with Daily, or every 3 days with Pro. However, the payout caps are quite restrictive, with a $1.2k maximum withdrawal on $50k accounts.

Rapid Daily has daily loss limits and requires a buffer on funded, but no consistency on funded, so you can request payouts every 24 hours.

The rapid daily is a reasonable choice if you want daily payouts with FundedNext, and having no consistency in the evaluation is a big benefit, but the price is quite high compared to the competition.

    Drawdown Rules

FundedNext Futures uses End Of Day balance based trailing maximum drawdown on all accounts.

The Flex, Legacy and Rapid (Pro) plans have no daily drawdown limits. The Rapid (Pro) plan has the option to add a daily drawdown limit for a discounted evaluation fee. The Rapid (Daily) has daily loss limits, which are a soft breach.

    Maximum Drawdown

Maximum drawdown is calculated based on the initial account balance. E.g. 4% maximum drawdown on a $50k account is $2k, meaning the drawdown limit is placed at $48k.

All FundedNext Futures accounts use End Of Day Trailing Drawdown.

    EOD Trailing

This drawdown trails up with new balance highs at the end of the day.

    Daily Drawdown

Daily drawdown is calculated as a percentage of initial account balance. E.g. 5% daily drawdown on a $100k account is $5k.

The daily drawdown reset takes place at 5pm CT.

Daily drawdown is a soft breach pause meaning exceeding the limit leads to a temporary trading pause for the day. Your account remains active, and you can continue trading the next day.

    Balance Based

The Rapid Daily and Rapid Pro (with Daily Drawdown Discount), have balance based daily drawdown.

This daily drawdown is calculated using only balance.

    News Trading

News trading is allowed on all FundedNext Futures accounts in both the evaluation and funded stage.

    Maximum Allocation

You may have up to $750k in evaluation accounts with FundedNext Futures. You can purchase up to 15 challenges per month, after which you will have to reset accounts to continue trading (which is slightly more expensive than purchasing evaluations at discounted prices).

    Prohibited Strategies

The following strategies are prohibited with FundedNext Futures:

    fundednext futures prohibited strategies

For full explanations, see the FundedNext Futures prohibited strategies FAQ.

    Inactivity

FundedNext Futures evaluation and funded accounts are breached after 30 consecutive calendar days of no trades.

    Live Program

    fundednext futures live program

The Live Program is the third and final stage of trading with FundedNext Futures. When trading a funded account, you may be selected to join the Live Program, where you’ll receive an account funded with real money to trade on live markets.

You are considered for live after 15 payouts with Rapid and Flex accounts, or after $100k total active profits with Legacy accounts.

Transitions to Flex and Rapid live only happen at the end of an active payout cycle, so you won’t be moved to live right before payout.

When you are selected, Flex and Rapid accounts with at least one payout will be transitioned to live accounts, up to a maximum of 5. With Legacy accounts you’re paid 50% of the eligible profits in your accounts, then 25% of this is used for your live account balance up to $50k, with the rest going to the reserve.

    FundedNext Futures Review Conclusion

    fundednext futures review conclusion

In conclusion, FundedNext Futures is a reliable prop firm with fast payouts.

The Flex plan is by far the best choice, with a very low price and high profit split. Keep in mind the evaluation is slightly more difficult than the competition, but it still offers some of the highest value for money.

The Legacy plan is uncompetitive, and needs a rework to make it up to date with the current prop firm landscape.

The Rapid Pro is an interesting option, with one day to pass and no buffer requirement on the funded account. However, the 40% funded consistency rule and high price hold it back.

The Rapid Daily plan is the best choice for fast payouts, but for high earning potential the payout cap means you should probably look elsewhere.
